"My Father's Eye" - a documentary on the life of photographer Ivan Massar

In early 2003, filmmaker David Massar decided to take his father to Paris in order to capture on camera the memories of a time and place that influenced Ivan Massar's artistic and professional life.  What grew out of that experience is a unique film that covers Massar's early life and service aboard the USS Franklin, his memories of Paris, his work with Roy Stryker among the steel mills of Pittsburg, the civil rights era, and his peace mission to North Viet Nam during the war.  Most of all it is a film about a son who by his own lens brings to life the world of a man who caught so many perfect moments in the lives of others.

Available on DVD, Fall of 2007.
